What is the meaning of 5rs?

 

The 5Rs are the following:

• Reduce

• Reuse

• Recycle

• Repair

• Recover

Reduce:

• Reduce means is to lessen the use of prodcuts especially plastic products. Example is to avoid using single-use products especially straws or cutlery.

Reuse:

• Reuse means to use again,  if not by you then, by others. clothes, cooking wares , bags , shoes and other clothes are some reusable materials. Example is buying from a second-hand store.

Recycle:

• Recycle means processing the waste materials to make another product. Example is making decorative objects out of newspaer or colored pages of magazines.

Repair:

• Repair is fixing or restoring broken items to be used. Example is sewing clothes that has damages.

Recover:

• Recover means taking energy or materials from wastes that cannot be use anymore. Example is biodegradable and food scraps will be turned into compost.
